Suzuki Marine supports NSRI with reliable outboard motors for rescue operations
Suzuki Marine continues to support the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) with practical equipment that helps strengthen marine rescue operations and water safety across South Africa.
The partnership between Suzuki and the NSRI, best known through the popular NSRI Cars4Good campaign, has grown into ongoing operational support. This includes vehicles for NSRI lifeguards and Community Programmes teams, as well as two Suzuki outboard motors for the NSRI’s Table Bay rescue station.
The Suzuki outboard motors power a fast-response rescue vessel, giving the NSRI team reliable marine power when responding to emergencies where every second counts.
Suzuki Outboard Motors Supporting Marine Rescue
For organisations such as the NSRI, dependable marine equipment is essential. Rescue vessels need reliable outboard motors that can perform when conditions are challenging and response time is critical.
The Suzuki Marine contribution to the NSRI forms part of a broader partnership aimed at strengthening the organisation’s ability to respond to emergencies, support drowning prevention and improve water safety education throughout South Africa.
Suzuki’s support extends beyond marine rescue.
Seven Suzuki loan vehicles assist NSRI Community Programmes teams travelling across the country to deliver water safety education and survival swimming lessons. A Suzuki Jimny and quad bike also support NSRI lifeguards at Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari Resort on KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast.
A Partnership Built on Reliability
Suzuki’s “By Your Side” philosophy aligns closely with the NSRI’s need for dependable equipment and practical support.
“Support like this helps strengthen real operational capability,” says NSRI Head of Operations Charl Maritz. “It gives our teams practical resources that help them work more effectively, reach further and respond where they are needed most.”
For Nauti-Tech Suzuki, as an authorised Suzuki Marine dealer, the partnership highlights the important role that reliable Suzuki outboard motors play in professional marine applications — from recreational boating to demanding rescue operations.
Suzuki and the NSRI are working together to strengthen water safety and rescue capability across South Africa, helping teams reach further, respond faster and save lives.
