From an all-ladies comp in St Lucia to some of the year’s biggest bill and game fish tournaments happening in Sodwana. Here’s what you need to know about SA fishing competitions in November 2022.
OET BILLFISH & GAMEFISH
1–5 NOVEMBER 2022
Strictly catch and release on all billfish and kingfish, marlin species net you 100 points on release. Sailfish are 50 points and all gamefish are 1 point per kilogram. One of the big game fish events of the year, check out the OET Bill and Game Fish Tournament.

PIONEER LADIES FISHING COMP
6–7 NOVEMBER 2022
There’s a new all-ladies fishing comp happening in St Lucia this month. With over R100 000’s worth of prizes to be won, it seems worthwhile giving Carman a ring at 082 319 3494 to find out more about the Pioneer Ladies tournament in St Lucia.

BILLFISH 15000
8–12 NOVEMBER 2022
One of the most popular billfish events in the world, the Dorado Ski Boat Club hosts the BillFish 15000 tournament every year at Sodwana Bay. There are already entrants from all over the world: Finland, Wales, Italy, Australia, England, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and more, due to it having produced so many world-record marlins in the past.
